Amazing Drummer

A friend of mine was telling me about a drummer he saw on YouTube that was amazing. I had forgotten all about it until I stumbled upon this video and knew this has got to be the guy. If you haven't seen this yet, you gotta check it out! I couldn't stop laughing. I wasn't laughing at the guy because he's a joke. I was laughing because it's so unexpected and mind blowing. This is how I imagine Chris Farley would have played the drums.

Creative Resume

Recently, I had to create an submit my resume for a job application. Of course a simple black and white resume was not going to cut it for me. It's a necessity for me to always have to make my resume stand out among the rest. Maybe that's because I feel that my work history just doesn't scream, "AWESOME DUDE! You gotta hire him." I spent days designing and redesigning my resume and portfolio. What I finally sent in wasn't what I really envisioned but I had to use what was at my disposal. Knowing what we have at our disposal and utilizing it to the best of it's ability is a key to designing on a budget. I created a 12 page booklet that was coil bound and used recycled pressed chip board as the front and back cover and spent $0 on printing. Was it the most amazing thing in print? No. But it looked good. You could tell that thought went in to each element of the booklet design. If I had the time and money I definitely would have chosen to create something different but sometimes using what you have is a great idea. If you are looking to be environmental, then by all means, use what you have. Be creative. Use toilet paper and hand write yourself a resume scroll. That would definitely stand out on the HR desk. Be creative, even if you aren't a designer by trade, creativity gets noticed.

Switched Over

I was hosting my own site but after falling victim to my password being compromised multiple times, I decided to say forget it and let someone else deal with that stuff since I'm not tech savy enough to keep the bad guys out. Fighting off viruses, trojans and all those other nasty annoying, time wasting buggers is not for me. I was using wordpress along side feedsweep to update my content so I thought, why not just use a blog as my website. duh. Wordpress is a good blog site but I just switched over to Blogger because I'm an avid Google use and wanted to be able to have everything in one convenient location. The bad thing about that is I'm starting from scratch again and my website looks bare. Maybe I'll link back to my old posts for those of you who care. I hope that you enjoy the new site and find it useful and beneficial.
